Call it what you like... Kumiho, Kyuubi, Nine-tails... it's the nine-tailed fox from Asian folklore. It was originally intended to be part of a much larger photo-montage of some kids fighting a demon, but I'm not so sure that will work after seeing these results. Sort of my first whack at photo manipulation in about 3 years, and I'm not too sure I'm happy with it, mostly because of the quality of the photos I had to work with. This is actually 6 different photos. I know there are only 5 tails visible, but adding them was getting tedious, and looking a little absurd... plus I was out of tails. ^_^ The way I figure, the rest are obscured behind the ones you can see and her body.
So I made it all grayscale to negate some color inconsistencies between photos, and plopped it all together, then colorized it and put a Median filter on it. Hooray for Photoshop. If I was going to do this right, I'd take photos myself (but it would be hard to make a fox angry and not scare it away). Of course, I'd still never be able to get it to look just right, so maybe a drawing is the better way to go. I also wanted to add fire and other effects to it, but meh.
Anyway, let me know what you think. I think it could still use some work, and the help of a good masking tool.
